2012 Diamond Jubilee One Kilo Gold Proof Coin - Save Over ?10,000
To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee on the 5th June 2012, the Royal Mint have produced a one kilo gold proof coin.Prices
With extortionate issue prices we decided early on that we would not be stocking this coin as we did not believe it represented good value for money, although we were offering it at ?55,000 by special order.As at 22nd May 2012, the Royal Mint issue price was £60,000 and the intrinsic gold content was £32,150! We believe the Diamond Jubilee One Kilo Gold Proof by the Perth Mint offers much better value for money.
We have been proved right, as we can now offer to sell one at only ?49,950. While this is still not exactly cheap, it is a much better deal than buying direct from the Royal Mint.
We also notice that the Royal Mint's new 2013 kilo gold coins are "only" ?50,000 each, possibly because gold prices have dropped, and the intrinsic value of one kilo of gold is currently below ?26,000 (15th October 2013). Our new price on the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Kilo is slightly less than this.
Obverse
The obverse is a new portrait of Her Majesty the Queen crowned and wearing the robes of the Order of the Garter created especially for the Diamond Jubilee by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the inscription:ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1000 POUNDS
Reverse
The reverse features the Royal Coat of Arms from Buckingham Palace, along with the year '2012'Presentation
The coin will be issued in a wooden box with a booklet and a numbered certificate of authenticity.Technical Specifications
