Obverse The obverse of this coin depicts the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
Reverse The reverse of this coin depicts a young queen dressed for the annual Order of the Garter service, with Buckingham Palace in the background. The order of the Garter is the the most senior and the oldest British order of Chivalry, founded by Edward III in 1348.
