Quintuple Sovereigns & Five Pound Crowns - The Difference
We have never heard anybody but ourselves refer to quintuple sovereigns. As far as we know these have always been referred to as five pound coins. We believe we originated the expression to help differentiate between the original five pound gold coins of the sovereign tradition, and the newly retariffed gold proof crowns
which were first issued in 1990.
