Gold bullion bars are made by numerous refiners. One is 'AB' for A Bugenhat, an old Belgian refiner which has now closed, making these quite collectable.
A Bugenhat (A.B.) We have seen a number of gold bars marked A.B., as seen in our photograph. Although these are apparently still fairly common in Belgium, they are rarely seen outside Belgium. We are told that A Bugenhat was a well-known Belgian refiner for many years, but they original owner or founder retired, and closed down the factory.

Mostly the gold bars we sell are intended purely as an investment in gold, and we do not guarantee to supply any specific make of bar, however we get many requests for specific makes or styles of bar for gifts or collectors, and so we try to provide these as an extra service. Certificates are unnecessary, or should be unnecessary, for gold bullion bars.
These usually state their weight and fineness, being stamped on them, and are generally difficult to fake.
