In 2004, none of the proof one ounce gold Britannias, with a face value of £100, were issued separately.
However we have managed, in 2006, to acquire a small quantity of them, which have obviously been split out of the complete four-coin sets. Of course, there are no certificates or boxes with this small number of coins we have, but they provide an excellent opportunity for any proof or Britannia collector to acquire these scarce coins.
Proof coins have a superior finish, and nowadays are often issued complete with a box and certificate. Proofs gold Britannia sets have been issued every year, but in only a few years have the different sizes been issued individually. These are attractive coins for collectors or as gifts.
