Is eBay Really a Lottery? - Is This Seller Honest?
Whenever we send copyright infringement notices to eBay, which is a daily occurrence, we include a paragraph warning or alerting them that in our experience, may people who steal our images also steal other things, and that if a vendor uses stolen images, it is likely that he does not own the items he is offering for sale. eBay appear to take no notice of our "good neighbour" advice, and usually allow the seller to relist the same or similar items, sometimes they steal other people's images as well.
In a significant number of cases, although we don't keep count, we notice that a few weeks later, the seller is "no longer a registered user". We never get any feedback or thanks from eBay, but our guess is that the seller has failed to deliver the goods after being paid, buyers have complained to eBay or the police, and his membership has been revoked. Because we don't receive any feedback, we can only guess, and it does seem that eBay goes to great lengths to avoid bad publicity.

Another 100% Feedback eBay Seller Caught Red-Handed
Many of the dishonest eBay vendors who steal our copyright photographs have a 100% feedback rating. We believe this undermines the eBay feedback system.
Our advice to eBay buyers is "do not trust the eBay feedback system". It is not a reliable guide to honesty or integrity. It can be manipulated by unscrupulous and dishonest traders. Indeed eBay take positive steps to protect the ratings of some of their higher fee paying vendors, who get special privileges.
What's Wrong
upjohn252 was using one of our copyright high quality photographs of a 2006 Chinese One Ounce Gold Panda Coin. This in itself is dishonest.
His previous feedback history states that he has been a member since 22nd April 2006 in the USA. It also shows him as having a 100% positive feedback score of 70
We believe this is yet another example of eBay feedback profiles being unreliable. Do eBay publish anywhere the results of any other complaints against their members, or do they simply keep this information to themselves?
Whenever we report dishonest vendors vendors to eBay, it is always interesting to see whether the vendor has the decency to contact us, apologise, and offer to compensate us. This one showed us what an nasty unpleasant character he really is. Is this guy typical of eBay members with 100% feedback? Probably!
Oh Mr CharDcoins,
You must not have known that pictures posted on in internet become public domain, E-Bay has their rules, which has to followed within the confines of E-Bay, you have no "international rights" because you took a picture of a coin, and FAR from collecting money because youve been so "hurt" and infringed upon. Its only a picture of a bloody coin as I said before if you post a picture on the internet it becomes public domain.
Sorry that E-Bay removed my listing DAYS after the auction was over, just a wee bit late now arent we? I have spoken to the E-Bay people, and thats all they can do is remove the listing. It does not give you the right to bid on the item with the intention of winning the auction and not paying. So enjoy your unpaid item strike when it comes, cuz its coming at ya!
Enjoy!

WOW Big Man
So you reported me to e-bay because of a photo of a coin. Well they ended the listing DAYS after the listing had ended already, so your efforts were fruitless. You on the the other hand are a THIEF, for expecting me to send you the coin for free. You can expect an unpaid item investigation very shortly Mr. Gets pissed off over a lousy digital pic (and expects me to hand over an ounce of gold because you feel so violated) Youre obviously a cockney dumbass, without an ounce of education. When did you drop out of school, kindergarten? Youre a pathetic slob with rotten teeth like all the rest of the english lower class I expect. Enjoy your unpaid strike when it comes! :)
Regards,
Steve
