The Peruvian 10 soles has been issued in two different specifications - the 1863 ten soles contains more than three times as much gold as the more recent issues (1956-1969).Ten soles is the equivalent of 1 Libra.

The 1863 coin is a different design to the 1956-1969 coins, although both designs feature Liberty.1863 - Obverse
Small wreath above flagged arms within sprigs with the date below the arms. The legend reads:"REPUBLICA PERUANA LIMA 9 DECIMOS FINO. Y.B."
1863 - Reverse
Seated Liberty with the denomination "10 SOLES" underneath. The legend reads:"FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION"
1956-1969 - Obverse
National arms above the date. The legend reads:"REPUBLICA PERUANA"
1956-1969 - Reverse
Seated Liberty flanked by shield and column with the fineness "9/10 FINO" underneath. The legend reads:"DIEZ SOLES ORO ORO FINO GRS"
