These 1oz lion coins are the first in the new, Queen's Beasts range of bullion coins. There will be a series of 10 coins released by the UK's Royal Mint.

Each of the coins in the series will depict a different beast; the white lion of Hanover, white greyhound of Richmond, falcon of the Plantagenets, red dragon of Cadwalader, lion of England, white lion of Mortimer, black bull of Clarence, griffin of Edward II, beaufort of Yale and the unicorn of Scotland.
Design
All the coins in the series will be designed by the Royal Mint designer, Jody Clark.
The reverse of this coin shows the lion of England.
