Jersey's First - and Only Gold Sovereign For millennium year, the States of Jersey issued gold sovereigns for the first, and so far, the only time. These were issued in relatively small quantities, the issue limit of both the uncirculated and the proofs being 2,000 pieces each.

The obverse is the same portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as used on British sovereigns, by Ian Rank-Broadley, but with a different legend (inscription):
