The Government of the Cook Island authorised the Royal Mint to strike this $1 coin to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II 60th birthday.
Description
The coin pays tribute to her leadership, and features on the obverse a ortrait of the Queen by Raphael Maklouf tihs is the first time that this regal and dignified effigy has been adopted on a coin of the Cook Islands.
The reverse design, created by Royal Mint engraver Robert Elderton features cameo portraits f the Queen and her family.
