The South African Mint issued a one ounce gold proof "Protea" coin to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Parliament, unfortunately we do not have a box or certificate.
The Protea Series
The South African Mint produces a series of "Protea" coins, starting in 1986, in two different sizes, one ounce and tenth ounce.Please see our separate page of South Africa Protea Information

Low Mintages All of the Protea series have relatively low mintage figures, which often enhances their attraction for collectors, and also for their "second-hand" value.
Protea or Not Protea? A number of the coins in the protea series do not feature a protea anywhere in their design or inscription, but the South African Mint describe them as belonging to the protea series. There is also an "Ounce" or "One Ounce" coin which preceeded the Proteas in 1985.
