Moscow Olympics 1980 Numismatically, one of the most important events of this period was the 22nd Olympiad held in Moscow in 1980. The USSR issued a series of six gold 100 rouble coins from 1977 to 1980 inclusive for this event. These were issued in proof and ordinary uncirculated versions.
