1979 Belize Gold Proof $100
The 1979 gold $100 was produced to commemorate Christmas. It is known to be the first Christmas coin in the Western hemisphere. The coin is titled "The Golden Star of Christmas". The obverse of the coin shows the golden star surrounded by a floral design. The star symbolises the star the three wise men followed to the manger in Bethlehem. The reverse of the coin shows the Belize coat of arms.
The coin is sealed in a plastic wallet contained in a blue folder and was struck by The Franklin Mint.
