Supplying False Information is Dishonest - Can You Trust This Dealer?
Gold Coin Bullion Dealers Jewellers & Misleading Domain Registration We usually notice inaccurate wrong information in domain name registrant details when checking people for copyright IP (Intellectual Property) rights abuses.
Guilt by Association?
We only noticed this dealer because we saw a familiar looking photograph on an eBay Gallery, but with a different name. We thought we recognised the style as being that of Allgold of Sevenoaks, run by Clive King. On inspection, it turned out to be James King, his son, who appears to have worked with or for his father previously. It is likely that James did some of the web based work, and may have been the web designer Clive blamed for using our copyright images without our consent, time may tell.
Knowing the connection, we took a closer look at "The Gold Coin Shop":
What's Wrong?
We almost fell off our chairs when we saw the Nominet domain registration for thegoldcoinshop.co.uk, whch we reproduce here. It states that James King is a non-trading individual. This is clearly untrue. What's more, the registration for his father's domain name also previously used the same false statement.
Like father like son?
Surely James King must have known about his father having to correct his domain registration details, but appears to have followed the same devious path.
The gold coin business is one where honesty, reputation and trust and important, at least in the long run. James King appears to have got off to a bad start.
