Copyright Theft is Dishonest - Can You Trust This Dealer? Using other people's copyright images is illegal, it is dishonest, and it is unethical. Using the hard work of a fellow dealer to sell the same goods in competition with him demonstrates an extremely low standard of ethics. We would not recommend anybody to transact business with this person or company.
Who would have thought such an honest (although they do not claim this) reputable
company would resort to stealing images from their competitors?
The Contact Us" page of their / his website does have an name and address "J.R.TRADING is completely dedicated to your total satisfaction. If you have any suggestions or comments please email us using the link on this page. Our Contact details: J.R Trading Broad Quay House Prince Street Bristol BS1 4DJ Phone: +44 (0)117 975 8627 Mobile: 07788603257 Email: sales@bullionuk.com".
We advise surfers treat sites using pirated images with extreme suspicion.
The "Gold Coins" page (https://www.bullionuk.com/store/categories.php?category=Gold/Coins) of their website features a "flash" banner consisting of obverse and reverse sides of a Canadian one ounce gold maple leaf coin, sourced from our website, which we reproduce along with our own photograph.
We also notice the same web owner using a Krugerrand obverse picture taken from one of our competitors, and we doubt whether he has obtained consent for the use of this image either.
Domain Name Record
According to Whois Search:
Updated February 2014
Registrant Name: Broad Quay House Registrant Organization: Registrant Street: Prince st Registrant City: Bristol Registrant State/Province: Registrant Postal Code: BS1 4DJ Registrant Country: GB Registrant Phone: +44.440117975862x7On 19th February 2014 we have done a second domain name search on this dishonest company. This is because a man from Torquay rang to complain that his details (phone number and address) were incorrectly displayed on the domain name search that we had listed on our webpage. We did a second domain name search and the details that came up were different to the original details that we had. The correct details are shown above. We are not sure how or why this has happened. We do know that the name was correct on the original domain name search, Joseph Rogers, so we wonder if this man purposefully supplied incorrect details.
What's Wrong?
It is dishonest and unethical to pirate and steal other people's work by using high quality copyright photographs without the owner's consent. To do so in competition with them is doubly devious. We can partially understand why they do it; it is quick and easy (but then so is robbing people).
In this case Joseph Rogers, owner of "Bullion UK" could not be bothered to take the time and trouble of photographing a gold maple, himself, or paying a professional photographer to do it for him, so decided it was quicker and easier to steal ours instead. They probably also thought we would not notice.
For these reasons, we conclude that Joseph Rogers, and Bullion UK are dishonest and unethical, and we recommend anybody to avoid doing business with them. If they will cheat us by stealing our photographs, what would they do to you for your gold or silver coins or your money?
