The three coins of the 2012 gold Proof Sovereign Collection each bears the beautifully composed rendition of St George and the dragon by Paul Day. Each coin features The Queen's portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. This strong and faithful likeness of The Queen has been used on coinage of the UK from 1998.

We have always thought the three coin set to be too expensive to make them a worthwhile purchase. Many people obviously agree as it is one of the few products that many UK dealers do not stock. This may also be something to do with the Royal Mint price breaks! In order to qualify for a reasonable discount you have to buy quite substantial quantities.
We tend to purchase 50 of the 4/5 coin sets and have no trouble selling them but even if we buy 10 of the three coin sets we still have them in stock years later. For this reason we will not be purchasing either the standard or premium three coin sets direct from the Mint this year.
In Stock
We bought in our first 3 coin set - the premium version - in the middle of February, 2014. With a Limited Edition Presentation of just 340, we don't think we will have it in stock very long.
Wanted
We play an active part in the secondary market for many gold and silver products, including three coin sovereign sets so we would be more than happy to purchase a 2012 (or any other date) three coin set from you.This obviously means that we may at some point have one for sale, so if you would like to telephone us and place an order we would hope to fulfil it with time.
