The World's Purest Gold Coins Please see our separate page for a description and brief history of the $350 gold series.
Half Price - Save £475 Per Coin! One of our UK "competitors" charges £950 each for these coins. We think this is very expensive, but occasionally we can offer "secondhand" specimens at considerable savings as usual. This same competitor informs us that the issue limit for 2001 is 2,000 pieces, whereas the correct figure is actually 2,001 pieces, only a small discrepancy, but demonstrating their usual standard of accuracy and attention to detail nevertheless.

The Wild Rose - Alberta Province The designs celebrate Canada's provincial flowers. Each year the design on these coins changes, the 2002 coin features the wild rose which was adopted as Alberta's floral emblem in 1930. According to the certificate which accompanies the coin:-
The Wild Rose
To paint the desert pink.
Throughout June and July, much of Alberta is awash with the delicate pink of the wild rose (Rosa acicularis). Also known as the prickly rose, the buds of this small shrub appear individually or in clusters of two or three. Their petals fade from vibrant pink to white as the flowers mature to set their fruit by autumn. These "hips" are a favourite meal for the white-tailed deer and snowshoe deer. Undeterred by the rose's barbs, they leave behind chewed off shoots and broken stems which are easily tolerated by this dainty but hardy rose - the ideal floral emblem (adopted 1930) for a province whose motto is "Strong and free".The Coin Designed by Canadian botanical illustrator Dr. A.K. Hellum, this gold coin is 99.999% pure, the highest standard of fine gold available in the world. It measures 34 millimetres and weighs 38.05 grams and has a face value of $350 Canadian. The obverse side of the coin features an Effigy of Her Majesty Queen elizabeth II by artist Dora de P&eactue;dery-Hunt.
