Yellow Gold
Although this coin is struck in 22 carat gold, as is the 1998 coin
, this 1997 dated coin is yellow while the 1998 coin is red. This is undoubtedly because the 1997 is 22 parts of gold alloyed with 2 parts of silver, while the 1998 coin is 22 parts of gold alloyed with 2 parts of copper. There may be some minor difference in actual composition, but it will be close to our estimated values. The 1997 coin was produced by the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa, Canada, whereas the 1998 coin was produced by the (British) Royal Mint in LLantrisant, Wales.
